The French pay-TV company will retain exclusive rights to all 380 matches of the season.
Canal+, the French pay-TV company, has extended its exclusive rights to broadcast Premier League matches in countries such as France, Switzerland (in French), Czech Republic, Slovakia and Vietnam until 2028.
It has been confirmed that Canal+ has received permission to broadcast all 380 matches next season. In France, these games will be available on Canal+ linear channels, the myCanal OTT app and Canal+ Premier League digital channel.
According to information published in L’Équipe, the deal for the next cycle is similar to the current contract between Canal+ and Premier League. This contract is reportedly worth around €75 million (or US$79.93 million) per season.
“The Premier League is delighted to extend our longstanding partnership with Canal+ until the end of the 2027/28 season,” commented Paul Molnar, Chief Media Officer at the Premier League.
“Canal+ is an outstanding partner and has continued to deliver market-leading and innovative coverage across its established and new digital platforms. We look forward to Canal+ continuing to be the home of the Premier League across these important territories.”
Canal+ has expressed interest in the possibility of acquiring domestic rights to the French Professional Football League (LFP), despite the company recently losing another court case related to its current domestic rights agreements for
Ligue 1. The deadline to apply for the country’s top rights to compete in Ligue 1 is October 17th.
