SBC CIS Weekly Digest: January 29 — February 5, 2024

SBC CIS Editorial Team is happy to present a quick recap of the gambling industry events, news, regulations and partnerships that happened last week. 

Elon Musk is expanding the capabilities of his platform, X (formerly Twitter). He has decided to implement sports betting functions and has already signed an agreement with the betting company BetMGM. Information about the integration of sports betting on Elon Musk’s X platform has not yet received official confirmation.

At the beginning of the week the Ukrainian Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL) decided to restrict access to illegal online casino websites in Ukraine. The list includes: bet2fun2.online, bitz1.vip, parik2413.com, vipcazino.net, vipkazinos.org. However, at the end of the week, the Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy of Ukrainian Parliament has endorsed a government bill, which proposes the dissolution of the KRAIL. The bill is aimed at improving the regulation of the gambling market and to establish a fair and transparent procedure for licensing enterprises in this field. 

Digitain, a leading provider of sports betting and casino platforms, has entered into a partnership with Bragg Gaming Group to distribute their games. Bragg’s full gaming catalog is now available on Digitain Centrivo platforms and their aggregation service. At the same time, Digitain has introduced a new AutoBet tool for sports betting operators, which allows customers to select events, markets, and preferred odds ranges for automatic betting without additional user input.

Azerlotereya and 7777 Gaming have entered into a partnership agreement. Five games inspired by the company’s popular digital lottery concepts such as Sea of ​​Treasure, Diamonds of Majesty, Lucky Clover, Bucks Detective and Cash 20x are now available on Azerlotereya’s website. Additionally, 7777 Gaming announces a strategic partnership with SoftGamings, the preeminent aggregator of online casino content. This collaboration allows 7777 Gaming to expand its reach and offer over 120 of the best casino games in its collection to SoftGamings’ extensive customer base.

GG.BET has extended its partnership with esports clubs Natus Vincere (NAVI) and Team Vitality. The companies expressed their intention to deploy online projects and organize large-scale offline events for supporters of the eSports clubs and fans of Counter-Strike and other disciplines in order to make eSports even more popular around the world.

Additionally, Betby, the innovative sports betting provider, has announced the expansion of its Betby.Games esports betting offering. There is a special focus on virtual tennis (eTennis) and virtual horse racing (eHorse), with the addition of odds for two new tournaments. While Smarkets has signed a partnership agreement with PandaScore to gain access to the provider’s eSports betting products.

TVBet has brought its four sub-brands together under a new umbrella brand, making integration easier for its partners. Betcore now provides four different gaming verticals including TVBet, Fastsport, El Casino, and Bet on Games through a single API to provide easy access to a diverse portfolio of games.

Sportradar has announced an enhanced partnership with super-charged betting service, kwiff. The agreement will continue to span multiple sports and Sportradar will continue to provide the operators with pre-match and live score data, as well as its content solutions including Live Match Trackers. 

Eurobet and Vermantia have joined forces to roll out the Vermantia’s Vision 3.0 solution in regions of Italy, where Eurobet plans to use it to manage content across its network of retail outlets. While Stakelogic Live, a live casino developer, has announced a partnership with Italian operator Planetwin365.

Gaming Corps and PokerStars have entered into an agreement under which the game developer will provide its range of games for online casinos. With this deal, players in Spain, Sweden and Malta at PokerStars Online Casino will have access to all Gaming Corps games, including crash games, mining, table games, slots and Plinko games.

Entain Plc has disclosed its legal proceedings against the former owners of BetCity (BetEnt BV) over a dispute over the acquisition deal. Entain successfully completed the acquisition of Dutch KOA-licensed online casino BetCity in June 2022 for a total consideration of €850m. The FTSE100 firm now claims that the deal was overpriced by the Dutch Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) gaming authority. 

Playtech Plc has secured a multi-year extension to its existing contract as the principal online casino platform supplier of Totalizator Sportowy SP, Poland’s state-owned gambling operator. Playtech has worked with Totalizator Sportowy since 2018, helping the operator launch its Lotto.pl brand, with Playtech providing its online casino games, content, platform, and live gaming solution. 

CT Interactive has entered into an agreement with Casimba Gaming, providing them with its high-quality games. While Endeavor Co, the NYSE-listed sports and entertainment fund, has announced that it has integrated the business of IMG ARENA “under the banner of OpenBet”.

Silicon Valley’s leading PayPal ends January with an investment in the Mesh project. This marks the first time PayPal’s investment arm, PayPal Ventures, has invested in a business using PYSUD exclusively. PayPal said its investment in Mesh demonstrates its “commitment to driving innovation in digital payments.”

FeedConstruct has announced a new sponsorship agreement with the Argentine Football Association (AFA). This partnership aims to facilitate AFA’s commercial development in Europe, where FeedConstruct will act as a regional sponsor.
