SBC Eurasia Editorial Team is happy to present a quick recap of the gambling industry events, news, regulations and partnerships that happened last week. 

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree that legalized betting activities in Uzbekistan from 1 January 2025, according to the Ministry of Justice. The new law aims to prevent the flow of money out of the country and help combat gambling addiction.

As part of the latest changes to the gambling legislation in Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy  expressed support for the petition of military personnel who expressed concerns about the growth of gambling addiction among military personnel in the region. The new rules Zelenskyy  signed over the weekend will not only ban gambling for military personnel, but will also tighten restrictions on gambling advertising in the region.

Bulgarian MPs have proposed new changes to the Gambling Law shortly after rejecting a proposal to address gambling problems through changes to advertising rules. Additionally, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has announced a lifetime ban for Bulgarian tennis player Pavel Atanasov from the sport due to multiple violations of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).

Hacksaw Gaming has made another important move in the market by launching its operations in Portugal in partnership with Solverde.pt. The new collaboration promises to be exciting as Hacksaw Gaming content will be exclusively featured on their platform until April 30th. While, bet365 and Relax Gaming are advancing their strategic partnership in the Spanish market. 

Beter and Superbet have announced a partnership with the support of Betbazar, the leading B2B platform in the iGaming industry, to improve the betting experience for players. While award-winning game development studio Evoplay has strengthened its position in the European market by launching its portfolio through leading aggregation platform Light & Wonder.
